1000th Longwood Escalator
25 September 2007
Longwood Engineering started manufacturing the first generation Longwood Escalator screen back in 1993, with an installation at Dukinfield in Greater Manchester.
Over the last 14 years the Escalator has established itself as the benchmark for quality, robustness and performance, with continual evolution to remain and perform at the top level.
In June 2007 we reached a landmark milestone, when we received an order for 11 Escalator screens and 10 Combi-Wash screenings handling units. This order now means that we have reached and surpassed the 1000th Escalator screen made.
This landmark will be part of the Laing O’Rourke “Project Omega” contract, which is a multi-million pound project in Northern Ireland. Project Omega is split over 6 sites, with work to be completed in 2008.
