Longwood Engineering is delighted to have been selected to take part in the Water Poland event, Wod-Kan, in Bydgoszcz, Poland, from 26th - 28th May 2009.

January 2009

Between now and 2015 it is estimated that the Polish government will be spending around 16 billion euros on upgrading the Polish water and sewage system, in order to meet EU requirements. These reforms have provoked a significant demand for water companies, contractors, consultants, manufacturers and suppliers of specialist machinery, equipment and materials, which are not available locally.

Intec Export Intelligence, one of the most prominent providers of export intelligence services for emerging markets worldwide, has been instrumental in enabling the Polish authorities, water companies and project manager to gain direct access to appropriate suppliers of equipment and materials, the culmination of which will be the event in Bydgoszcz in May this year. Longwood Engineering is one of the companies specially selected by Intec to take part at this event.

The event is being held under the auspices EUREAU, (European Federation of National Associations of Water & Wastewater Services) as well as the Polish Chamber of Commerce. It is organised by IGWP (Izba Gospodarcza Wodociagi Polskie (the Polish Chamber of Water & Waste Water)).

Says Jeff Pierson, Sales Manager for Longwood Engineering: "Firstly we are delighted that we have been selected to take part at this event. Secondly, this presents a significant opportunity for Longwood Engineering, particularly at a time when we are proactively seeking new markets. As part of the reform programme, up to 320 wastewater treatment plants and 460 collective sewage/wastewater systems need to be constructed, so with our engineering expertise, range of products and value for money, we are more than equipped to be part of this programme and we are hopeful that our forthcoming visit to Poland will bring about some positive results."
