New partnership deal finalised
5 December 2008

Pepijn Kroon (Project Manager, REKO) and Jeff Pierson (Sales Manager, Longwood Engineering)
After many years of unofficially working together, The Longwood Engineering Company Limited and REKO Industrial Equipment b.v. have agreed to become official partners. REKO are based in Stellendam, Holland and have been supplying their products in to the UK for many years.
The new partnership will allow sales and maintenance service locally in the UK. REKO produce spares for ALL makes of shaftless screws.
The REKO range of products include;
· Shaftless Screw Conveyors
· Rundown Screens
· Rotary Drum Screens
· Grit Classifiers
The following comments below give a brief description of the products that are available.
Shaftless Screw Conveyors
The REKO shaftless screw conveyor means a revolution in the transportation of wet and dry materials.
The shaftless screw is manufactured from cold rolled wear resistant steel alloy. Because there is no central shaft, there are many benefits to be gained, e.g. no blockage due to materials winding round shaft, no bearings to worry about and improved unrestricted throughput enabling gross solids to be readily transported.
The result is low maintenance cost.

Run Down Screens
The REKO screens are characterised by specially designed screen plates, since the Coanda effect is combined with the tipped angle shear effect. The REKO screens can be supplied in both static and vibrating execution in various dimensions.
The static screen types are available in the W, TS, DFZ and LB series. The capacities vary from 1m³/h up to 200m³/h per unit, with particle retention of 0.1mm up to 5 mm.
The vibrating screens are suited to liquid flows with large concentrations of solids or greasy/sticky material. The capacities vary from 2m³/h up to 200m³/h per unit with particle retention of 0.1mm up to 2 mm.
Rotary Screens External
Essential part of the REKO rotary screen is the wedge-wire drum.
The outside of the drum is the screening surface. Through the inlet-chamber the liquid flows towards the drum, which it passes from the outside to the inside. The solids are retained on the outside of the drum and are being removed by a scraper blade.
The liquid falls through the drum and flows from the inside to the outside. By this a self cleaning effect is created. In addition to this a spraying system is mounted on the inside of the drum. An adjustable overflow prevents hydraulic overload.
Standard drum screens are available in diameters of 600 and 900 mm and a drum width from 300 to 3000mm and slot width of 0.25 up to 3 mm.
Capacities from 10 - 1.000 m³/h with a slot opening of 0.75 mm, depending on type of liquid and particle and slot opening.
Rotary Screens Internal
The inside of the drum is the screening surface. Through the inlet-chamber the liquid flows into the drum, which it passes from the inside to the outside. The solids are retained on the inside of the drum and are being moved to the outlet by the rotation of the drum.
The liquid falls through the drum and flows from the inside to the outside. By this a self cleaning effect is created. In addition to this a spraying system can mounted on the inside and/or the outside of the drum.
Grit Classifiers
The REKO screw separator is an installation most suited for separating small, fast settling materials from liquids.
It is constructed with a settling reservoir sited over an angled shaftless screw conveyor.
Due to its simple construction and the advantages of the integral REKO screw conveyor this installation requires low investment and very little maintenance.
